So I am going to be building a rodent rack. I went and visited a ball python breeder who sold me an asf colony. He had a rodent rack that looked quite simple and had quite a few bins. SO I'm going to build a similar one, just smaller. Currently I have two mouse colonies, and one asf colony, and going to get some more female mice today.
Wish me luck!

Are you setting up a CO2 chamber for the rats? Or are you still set on feeding live?

afs aren't that much bigger than mice, correct? i thought they were just like, an over grown mouse, not rat size.

But they have the attitude, intelligence, and strength of bite of a rat. They are bitey as well.

I'd just get some gloves at least and be ready to intervene if the rats fight back.

Now that I have saw them in person, they are quite big. So I will pre-kill them by cervical dislocation unless they're still smaller then mouse size, say fuzzy or hopper.
But I'd rather not this become another thread like the last one. Thanks

I have no experience with breeding mice/rats/rodents in general But would't the rodents be able to jump out of those shelves?

There is screen wire mesh that the tubs are tight against. So nothing to grab onto to chew and no way to get out. I seen one in person and it makes far more sense now.
