One year ago today my sweet little ferret, Adrian, passed away. He had stage 3 juvenile lymphoma and had to be euthanized, he was only 1 1/2 years old. Adrian was so very special to me. He had a heartkey I believe, too. He was sick when I got him on Christmas Eve, weeks after that were spent hand feeding him with numerous vet visits, but nobody could determine why he acted the way he did. I still cry to the thought of his death, but those happy memories are there. He used to climb up my arm and lay on my shoulder when I opened his cage door. Whenever I walked into the room he would pop his head up and come to the cage door, not wanting to play, but wanting me to hold him for a while. I met senior ferrets that were more energetic than Adrian, but he had his times. He never played or jumped around, but occasionally he would roll around the bed chasing my hand. And he always wanted nothing more than for my little girl, Neichei, to cuddle up with him even though she never wanted to. Adrian, at 6 months, would sit in my lap for hours and let me pet him and love him. There is nothing more in the world that I loved more than him. The day he died, a little piece of my soul died too. And now, one year later, I still miss him more than I can describe, but I feel that we'll be reunited one day. I love and miss you Adrian Matthew, DIP buddy. Adrian was so beautiful. I understand how the loss of one very special ferret, can be so heartbreaking. Thank Heavens for those happy memories.
