I don't have ferrets currently, but I was curious if its difficult to convert adult ferrets to whole prey? Is it easier to get babies to eat whole prey than adults?

It depends on both counts. I've had adults eat adult mice first time offered after watching cage mates. As for young- depends again. Some yes some no.

I've switched 5 ferrets to raw, all adults, all took to whole prey no problem. Before that on kibble I gave mice sometimes as a treat because one of mine ate them right off the bat by herself, at the time I had a group of 7 and 4 eventually started eating them just from watching her do it. I feed mice, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, quail, chickens and fish as whole prey.

Sardines, herring, smelt. Most of mine have not been fans of fish but I try every now and then. They usually eat a bit and make a big mess of scales!
