Jess came by to pick up Chewie so we're standing by the cages in the ferret/family room and I'm telling her all about their coat changing... Slink seems to be changing color...again...her head which used to be a pretty cinnamon color is turning white, while her legs and sides are staying cinnamon...well we're just chatting, I'm pulling fuzz and she comments on how much softer Lily's fur seems to be and I pulled Sophie Ann out. I swear she has a coat of silk. I'm holding her, carefully of course, keeping the business end of her (teeth) away from Jess...so far so good, no biting, coolbeans. Well Sophie Ann is a climber and she doesn't care what or who she climbs, so I'm holding her and she crawls up my arm and is on my shoulders, butt on the left business end on the right....I'm so anxious and nervous I got goose bumps, bad, all over my arms and legs...just waiting for her to take a chomp out of my ear, shoulder, or even worse face...I'm trying not to giggle because when I'm nervous I giggle...well after about 30 seconds of her being on my shoulder I had to get her off and I put her back in the cage... needless to say, Sophie Ann was held for about 3-4 min without biting me! SCORE!!!!

I can understand entirely....I remember snuggling a sleeping Fun-Go (I do this trying to reach these damaged little ones) and then suddenly feeling the gentle lick as he gave me a couple of kisses just under my ear. ciao

Tomorrow will likely be back to normal, but those nonbiting episodes will hopefully come closer and closer together

Congratulations! My little Willow was much like that, and legendary for her propensity for drawing blood; it took a long time, but I trust her even around my face now -- well, except when she's hungry ;D

Awesome, Rose! She's getting it. It's a long hard road, but it feels great I bet to make some headway!

I was able to hold her today for about 2 min or so before she started getting antsy so I wasn't going to push it....it's been a rough couple of days and I really don't feel like being chewed on....
