So my boy neeco strted throwing up little at a time and running around back and forth acting wild. He at times seems like he cant breath or is breathing hard and then calms down for a minute. What could it be? Is it something he might have eaten?

He has calmed down now and used the bathroom but I am very worried. What the heck was it? He was fine all morning during play and after I put him back in the cage he started dry heaving and going from the food dish to the litter box back and forth and throwing up a little at a time..

Aww..poor Necco. What did you see in his throwup? Have you looked around the house, to see if he got ahold of something? And what was his breakfast? I know Ponce once did that, when he was little. We rushed him to the vet and he checked him out, did not find any reason for it and Ponce calmed down and was fine. I have seen some posts, where a little guy panics because of a hairball and starts throwing up a little. I hesitate to offer any advice, but until a more experienced ferrent weighs in, I wonder if a little oil or egg would help. That's what people suggest when there is a hairball. And do you have any Bach's rescue remedy? That will help calm him.

Thanks ponce! There wasnt much in the throwup it looked like regurtated food no chunks or hair. He got real sleepy and seemed to calm down..he avoids the olive oil when I try to give it to him but I will try again. Thanks so much for your advice!

Keep us posted. Hopefully Sherry, Katt, Heather or someone more experienced than me, will offer some advice soon.

I am so sorry! I thought my post had showed up. I should have double checked Odds are he had a hair stuck in his throat. That can and does cause them to panic and throw up when they can't get it out. Have rescue remedy on hand and put a drop on his ear flap, nose, or paw pad. That will help calm him.
