I was curious how much everyone is paying for there whole prey items, I just stopped by one of the pet stores here to see how much there frozen rodents were and found out they only sell pinkies frozen the rest live, but are willing to freeze the other rodents if you call at least a day ahead. So then I asked the price of the pinkies $1.25/mouse pinkie. OMG I worked in a petstore my senior year in high school and then became a manager my freshman year in college, for some reason I thought we sold our pinkies for far less than that. Just curious what everyone pays for whole prey. Thinking it may be more beneficial to buy a couple mice and breed my own.

Here it depends. I can get adult mice, 50 pack for about $60 at Riverfront Aquariums. However the pet store I used to get them at from time to time increased them from $3 each to $5 each.

I love rodent pro specials prices, but shipping is really expensive unless you fill the box, which costs more money upfront and I would definitely need to get a deep freezer.

I just looked at big cheese and american rodent, even though american rodent requires $100 minimum order, I do think I will be using them once I get a deep freezer. I would much rather get $100 worth of food then half to pay half in shipping and half in food. Once season comes around again I know I can get live baby quail for cheap.

In the long run, ordering online in bulk is definitely cheaper and offers more variety, so that's what I do. I use rodentpro when there are deals, mostly. The shipping for American Rodent where I live is OUTRAGEOUS. But Big Cheese has good deals too but not a lot of sales.

I breed my own mice because the pet store price of them is nuts, like $4/adult mouse. I usually get my quail from hare today these days, they aren't badly priced and I order from them anyways. Used to do RP but yeah they are expensive.

I use american rodent because I am in the free shipping zone, which I love. Great deals on mice and rats (I get 200 mice and some rats for $100).
Rodentpro is great for selection but Shipping kills me so I can't order often.
