Thanks. Yeah, after reading about the trials others are enduring, I feel really fortunate. I'm trying to expose him to a bunch of foods while he's young in the hope that he will continue to accept a variety.

Taurine is an extremely crucial amino acid for carnivores - especially ferrets. Taurine is also NOT manufactured by their body, nor is it stored - so it is ESSENTIAL that you offer Taurine sources on a daily basis. Taurine can NOT be "OVER" fed - or "OVER" dosed - so that is one reason I feed turkey hearts every day. Taurine is higher in dark meats - Rabbit meat is considered a "white meat", so are chicken wings, chicken breasts, entire Cornish Game hens. Please keep that in mind with your menu. Hello! Please tell me, are chicken hearts also a source of taurine? I can't seem to find turkey hearts here..

Thank you very much. My ferret loves hearts. Wierd that a year ago, when I started to look for informatsion on raw food, a person who had been feeding raw for years gave me some advice and she told me that there's nothing in hearts and there is no point in giving hearts whatsoever. But I was still giving hearts regulary.

How about bugs? I already buy supers, meals, crickets, butters and wax worms for my Sto as well as frozen mice for the snake (which the Sto will also eat and the ferrets are welcome to) Would ferrets potentially enjoy or benifit from live bug snacks?

What would a basic full prey menu look like ? Can you feed wings as well ? And would they need a heart/ liver/ organ meal ?

Bugs are a natural part of a weasel's diet so yes And feeding wings on a whole prey diet is a good idea in case your supplier changes where they source the prey from. As for heart/liver/organ it depends on how much whole prey they are eating. If pretty much a complete whole prey diet then no. It would consist of mice, rats, rabbits, guinea pig, etc.

So how many meals of whole prey would they need a week to cover the liver etc so you wouldn't need to feed liver ect ? Also would rats, mice, pigeon, quail, rabbit, be enough ? How often would you feed the wings ?

11-12 meals would do it. Do wings once or twice a week. And yes those would be enough proteins

Yes they need them even more than adults do as their bodies and brains are still forming. As they are only having 3 prey meals a week I would still give them a full meal of heart, as well as one of mix liver/kidney

I'm hoping to eventually have them on full prey but for now how much liver/kidney should I give them each ?
I have decided to put Oscar and Ollie back onto kibble because they hate organs and I don't know how to get them to eat them or how to work on getting them to eat full prey, Ollie has not been doing well on raw since I switched, he actually look awful! His side are tucked in, he looks skinny and now has rats tail.
So I will have two on full prey and two on kibble by the looks of things.
if feeding whole prey diet using whole animals, can I include 100 per cent minced meats - meat/bone/organ of a ratio 60/20/20 into the menu with the whole prey mice, etc to make a weeks menu ?

If by organ they mean heart, liver and other yes. If just liver/other then 20% is too high

They say the organs they use are heart/liver/kidneys so should be ok, I will only be feeding the mince once a week mostly the rest while prey and one or two days duck wings/ chicken necks/ turkey necks
this is my menu for the kits, then hopefully for the older two eventually. Is this ok menu ? Also with the hamsters, if there purchased frozen online do they still need freezing for 2 weeks/month once delivered before feeding ?
Mon am mouse Mon pm hamster
Tues am rat Tues PM whole ground minced hare ratio of 60/20/20 meat/bone/offal
Wed am turkey neck Wed pm quail
Thur am hamster Thur pm rat
Fri am mouse Fri pm hamster
Sat am whole ground mince same as above but chicken Sat pm quail
Sun am hamster Sun pm duck neck
