Has anyone heard of a ferret having a bad reaction to a Lupron injection? Almost like a vaccine reaction? Koda threw up all over last night....then he did it again. He was actually Projectile vomiting a good distance away from him. And there was nothing in the throw up other than partially digested meat. So I didn't think he got into something but I gave him some Vaseline anyways. After he drank a LOT of water, which is really good. Then about an hour later he started on the second round. HE threw up less than the first time, but still. This morning he seems ok, and was eating his freeze dried Duck Duck Goose. I didn't have any meats for soupies (it's all frozen!) and I don't think my roommate would appreciate the blender at 3 am when she has to be up at 5 anyways. lol So I figured he always does well on FD with his IBD, so it would be better than some bone in meats in case his belly was upset or he threw up again (there was a bone chunk - albeit a small one - in his first bout...that can't have felt good ). So far no signs of another episode. I thought perhaps he ate too fast or something didn't agree with him or who knows what. Then Shane reminded me that on Monday he got his second Lupron. Is it possible he was reacting to the shot fro mteh day before?

It is possible...they do react but it's more likely stress. I have heard a couple. I don't know why but sometimes they get really stressed and other times not but it happens. Aremis was like that. He would be horrifically sick after a session at the vet (blood draw)....the last time I thought I was going to have to take him back he was so sick. Try some RR before and when he gets back and see if that helps. ciao

Ooooooohhhh. Heather, he did get his blood drawn on Monday as well! *facepalm* I will give him some RR today just in case. I wish I had thought of it before. My mind has been all consumed by my BioChem test. But now that is over - so yaaay!
*hugs poor neglected ferret babies*

I forget too....sometimes it's just one more thing to think about and at the time it doesn't seem important. Don't beat yourself up...remember the next time. Is he doing better now? How did your Bio-chem go....good? ciao

Well, it was one of those tests where you KNOW or you REALLY DO NOT know. ;D I never know how I am going to score on his tests. *Shrug* It is over all I can do is make my paper that is due in a week and a half really good and hope I can scrape out an A. He seems to be doing ok so far. I have been sitting in my room and he is sleeping in his cage (I just finished an essay - they will come out later haha Stinkers like to distract me). He was gobbling down FD earlier so that is good and I have gone in to wake him up a few times to be sure that he is clear headed and all and he seems alert and ready to come out when I wake him. So that is good. I'm just keeping an eye out for now. I hope it was just stress. I hate it when they are sick. I feel so helpless. And when they are throwing up they just get that wide eyed scared look, and he was all poofed up (body not tail) and frantic too. :(I hate seeing him feel scared and sick. I am glad he seems to be back to normal this morning! .......... *knocks on wood*

Koda sure does try to give you an early heart attack. Hope he continues to feel better. He really seems to get stressed easily.
