I haven't ordered from RP in over a year due to their shipping charges so I jumped all over this! My fuzz will be happy to get guinea pigs and rats again and I got a couple rabbits and some of the whole chickens, ton more quail. I have a feeling they will be eating a whole prey heavy diet for the next several months.
gonna have to give rodent pro high marks for customer service and excellent packaging.
mice, chicks, and quail came completely frozen with plenty of dry ice, but what really impressed was that when i contacted the company via email letting them know my order incorrectly included triple extra large rats (closest i've ever come to puking) rather than rabbits, they immediately sent out the corrected order.
i've put the rats in the back of my freezer and am hoping to overcome my squeamishness someday and chop it up for my babies but it really may be beyond me...
Let me warn you about the rabbits. They still have poop in the poop shute. I would highly recommend that you open them up and remove it. It stinks too. My ferrets open up the first rabbit I gave them and there was rabbit poop everwhere.
Get yourself a gut knife. Only way to open it up without ripping open the poop shute. They also dragged it all over my house. I learned my lesson.
thanks msav, picked up "The Complete Book of Ferrets" by Nicholas Porter, 1990, which has detailed instructions on how to gut a rabbit. almost wish i could go ferreting, but well, i just don't have it in me to kill anything directly, just would love to see my ferrets in action
