Or is it very individualized?
I have 3 ferrets, who have extremely different sleep patterns.
My oldest who's 3 or 4 definitely sleeps more often then not. She has good energy when up and playing, but is always the first to sleep. Where the baby (10m) neka ... well sometimes I think he's too dumb to know when to go to sleep! lol (which of course the first clue something was wrong when he had th blockage, cause he curled up on his own to go to sleep). Zeke is in the middle... goes for a long time but wears out before Neka.
Do all your ferrets have different sleep requirements?

Hi yes they all have different sleep patterns and diffrent levels of sleep depth ( some do the dead ferret sleep where not even a bomb will wake them lol ) time of year also contributes to amount of time sleeping too they tend to sleep more in winter than summer ( in winter they sleep more to preserve fat stores and energy ) in summer there are more daylight hours than darkness often they try to sleep through some of the daylight knowing that instinctivly in summer there is more prey to be found so rest up ready for a long night of hunting lol kits tend to play snooze play snooze play snooze they can survive on little short cat naps in between play spurts lol older ferrets think oh heck its too warm I will sleep now rest up and do my running around in the cool of the evening but no two are the same one thing i do know is if your very quiet and they don't know your there everyone is resting make one tiny sound though and everyone thunders around lol take care bye for now crazy lady

I've got a few who are the last to wake up and the first back to sleep, but they play hard while they are awake.. then I have some who seem to never sleep and wake up at the drop of a pin. Every ferret seems a little different!

Mine are all different as well. Yes, my older ones, or my adrenals, will sleep more than the others, but like Bev mentioned, season affects it as well.
