www.thisisbath.co.uk/news/Appeal-information-stolen-pet-ferret/article-3423010-detail/article.htmlbath_chronicle Thursday, April 07, 2011, 11:16 Appeal for information over stolen pet ferret The owner of an albino ferret has appealed for help from the public after the animal was stolen from its hutch. Cat Clark’s pet, who is called Wilf, was taken from a locked hutch in her back garden in Midford on Saturday night. She said she was growing concerned because he is not a wild animal and would not survive long away from home. Wilf is described as a yellowish colour and he does not have a tail. Ms Clark said he is a friendly animal, who has never been known to bite anyone, and appealed for anyone who has seen him to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact her on 07828 036157 .

It seems to be fairly common in the UK to have ferrets stolen. That's one of the reasons I was able to get Basil and Cybill...there had been 3 attempts to steal them, and the owner was afraid that eventually the thief or thieves might be successful.

They don't sell ferrets in pet stores here in the UK but they aren't at all expensive, the most you'll find one for is around £15 - £20 so I don't understand why people steal them. That's why I keep mine indoors as I'm too afraid of something like this happening.

I'd be afraid that someone would steal it just to be cruel and torture the poor thing. People can be so horrible..

I cant even imagine what she must be going through, poor thing. Why would you do something like that, seriously? Its sickos like this fuzznapper that make me afraid to let my Chihuahua run around unsupervised in my moms fenced in back yard. People have issues.. seriously. If you cant respect the fact that the animal your stealing is someones beloved pet, that you alone are destroying that part of both the pet and the owners life then you dont deserve a pet. Plus, if you have to steal it, how can you afford to care for it? This is one reason why I cant stand the majority of the human population
