Yes, Ziva and Jane are eating bone in meal and LOVE it. I got a call that the organs (beef spleen + pork kidneys) were ready from the butcher late today so I will be getting them tomorrow am. They have been eating as balanced as I could get without the organs so far. i will list the menu below. So excited for tomorrow to try the organs out! as well as new proteins soon
and holy moly...haven't updated in a whole freaking week....
so sorry!
now that ziva and jane will be eating chunks...is there a new format for their updates?
also, i just want to okay the new recipe for lucy and izzy to do the transition again but ensuring she puts the ferret pounds on properly without (hopefully) any issues and get her back to raw...and if there are...well, lets just hope not. i don't know if i believed the vet but.... maybe she really just needs her gut bacteria reset....
regardless, she is eating and playing more and more... thats all i can ask for right now.
here is what bev recommended to get Lucy (and unfortunately little izzy too) back to raw and up to weight... :
Hi if she is refusing to eat enough meat to sustain her then maybe you should play her at her own game for a while until you can get weight on her ( I still think there is another issue going on here though that is not related to the food ) but if we can get her eating well for a couple of days then you can see if it passes through as it should what about making her a thick soup of soaked kibble and a tiny amount of meat ( blend it with the soaked kibble so she cannot find it or smell it ) some bonemeal and a scoop of krm serve it too her warm a couple of times a day with a thickish soup she cannot inhale it fast so less gas build up as it means she has to take her time and work to eat her food its also already hydrated for her so she wont need to drink lots of water ( so dehydration wont be an issue ) if she accepts this form of soup along with kibble then as the days progress and she puts on a little weight simply slowly increase the amount of meat you put into the soup good luck with your baby please keep us up todate on how she is doing take care bye for now

Lucy and Izzy's new transition recipe:(fed 2 oz at a time, 4 times a day?)
-4 oz soaked and blended totally ferret kibble
-scoop of powdered goat's milk (the KMR had 20% fat, so i went with this...it has 40% and less ingedients)
-1/2 tsp bonemeal/crushed eggshell powder
-1 tsp of raw soup mix* (will increase raw amount maybe every...week? thoughts? i really just want to take it slow to ensure she puts the weight on?)
*raw soup mix will be the same i have been using
-8oz Chicken
-Chicken Liver (1oz)
-2 Chicken Hearts
-1/2 tsp eggshell powder
please let me know what you think about all of this, just incase i need to/should adjust recipe..?
