Hi I noticed there is no mention of Tripe in any of the diet menus Tripe is a good source of iron and vits ( do not feed bleached or processed tripe ) if you can get hold of it ( and boy is it cheap lol ) buy it unwashed and do the washing yourself ( rubber gloves and nose peg needed lol ) the tripe will be green ( from undigested grass ) simply fill your bath tub and allow to soak in cold clean water for an hour or two rinse and repeat then begin slicing or mincing ! ( over in England I can get around 20 pounds of tripe for 2 pounds sterling ( 4 dollars ) you can then freeze in portions I feed mine tripe every two weeks or so to add variety to the diet my guys love it so do my dogs ! have fun lol take care bye for now crazy lady ( Bev )

Ha....my woosies won't eat it (the dog gets it all the time and loves it) I've got maybe one or two who will try it but for the most part their reaction is similar to the cats ..... ewwwww I told them that it doesn't stink any worse than they do but other than Boris who ran off with a strip and stashed it...(just follow your nose to find it:-/) I didn't have any takers. Any hints on how to get them to take on this delicacy?? because you're right it's packed full of nutrients ciao

Hi Tripe is the stomach lining of a cow heather try soaking it in the oil from a tin of sardines or tuna oil for half an hour to an hour before feeding the fish smell masks the smell of the tripe lol when I start them on it for the first time I usually mince up a little and mash it with tinned sardines or tuna in oil lol its a case of if you want the fish then some tripe goes down too lol take care bye for now Bev

Hehe, I tried feeding tripe mixed in with beef once. ONCE Fuzz looked from the meat to me to the meat, and back to me. As if to say "I'm supposed to WHAT with that? ?";D Tried giving it to the cat with the same reaction, but he also attacked it with his claws to kill it;D

Lovely, Heather!! I hear www.greentripe.com ' s product is very good, from my co-op. There's a local meat man here that sells it as well for them but in general people there seem to prefer greentripe.com as they say it is MUCH stinkier, which apparently points to much more quality! <- Closest thing to a puking emoticon I can find.
