Avy has just now started eating mice and young rats last week. However, he hates the fur on them and plucks it out and leaves it to the side. So I just skin them for now, but he will eat a fuzz rat no issue. It's when they have longer fur that he will pluck it off. Sometimes if he can't get it all off he will just leave the carcass there (so I skin them so he will eat with no issues). So now we have a teamwork going on. He eats the body, I keep these little rat pelts and make mini dreamcatchers from them, so we have teamwork going on. He does eat mouse fur if it is covered in liver blood, so I have to bloody it up for the picky ferret. That was how I first got him to prey. He would not touch it so on another try I left the carcass in a liver jug for a few minutes and that worked great. He ate it up and now he doesn't need them liver flavoured when I serve them anymore, unless it is a non skinned mouse lol.
