Hey again everyone. I'm a worrywart and just want to make sure things are going normally.
So, I remember reading somewhere (I'm not sure where) that when you switch a ferret to raw they'll super eat for a while and then slow down and eat less once they've gotten all the nutrients they were missing. How fast do they slow down?
I feel kinda silly to be worried about this, because Thief is acting completely normally. She's bright eyed and eating toes every morning for an hour or two. She sleeps most of the day. She's awake and terrorizing the house until from about nine to eleven. When she plays, she plays hard, so I don't worry about her sleeping a little more than usual. She's pooping just fine (less than before, but I also read that it's to be expected with raw), although the amount of water in the soup doesn't seem to be agreeing with her too well.
My issue is that she went from eating 4oz of food a day (sometimes more) to eating more like 2oz a day. This change happened fast, over the course of about three days. It happened faster than I expected, and if that's a sign that somethings wrong, I want to know so I don't wait for the really bad signs to take her to the vet. But vet trips are expensive, and I don't want to take her if it's nothing, you know? Especially since money's tight because my landlord sucks and refuses to fix things when they break ahem
I know every ferret is different, but some general idea would be great. Sorry for being such a worrywart.
