So, hubby told me I was not allowed to get a ferret (as if he has any say in these matters), because they are gross and look like rats. I think rats are cute, apparently he does not. Although I dont think ferrets look like them regardless. And then when I brought Jinx home, he wouldn't look at her or touch her or let her touch him. So i just played with her and let her work her own magic on him. She would follow him around when he was walking to or from somewhere, and he would watch how silly she acted when her and I were playing... he even let her crawl on him after about the first four weeks when she was on the couch. He started "fighting" with her a little bit about a month after that, but still wouldn't pick her up or hold her or anything voluntarily. And today, she appears to have finally won He was in the basement where her cage is, and called up to me that she was awake, I said ok but I was writing a paper and couldn't play right now so I would put her in her playpen in a minute. I was finishing what i was writing and then i hear hubby come up the stairs, and places a ferret on my head Hahah which means, he voluntarily went and got her out of her cage, carried her all the way upstairs, and then brought her back down and put her in her playpen. All for her own benefit. Muhahah....ferret mind control on hubby is SO working She has perfectly that sad puppy look when she's awake in her cage and you are on the other side of it.

all ferrets are hypnotists. she looked at him and dangled an n-bone in his face "LOOK into my eyes...relax....your eye lids are getting heavy....on the count of 5, you will fall madly in love with me....you will take me out of my cage...you will play with me...you will clean up my poop and you will like it... you will let me eat ice cream whenever i want..."

Haha that's great. There's very few people in the world who don't eventually succumb to ferret mind tricks.

Heheh you had me until you said poop I'm quite certain no matter how much hubby likes something...he will not clean it's poop lol. He is very allergic to my cats, so he didn't like them at first, well now my aloof male cat is IN LOVE with him. The cat who likes no one, is head over heels in love with hubby and will be so happy to lay on him he drools all over him ahhaah but that litterbox still is only cleaned when I do it.... Will have to get Jinx to increase the hypnosis/mind control level to get this incorporated

These little guys are mind control artists! Good that she won over hubby!
I have a friend who is afraid of ferrets-he doesn't think they're gross or anything. He thinks they're cute, and he knows they're not mean. He's got a phobia of their long bodies. But, he will watch me and others play with them and make comments like, "Oh, they're so sweet".

Yeah I guess they do walk a bit strangely in comparison to most other pets

That is basically what happened to my hubby. He didn't want ferrets around at all, now he doesn't care if there are any other pets in the house except the ferrets ;D ;D I've had a number of people complain that they're just furry snakes with legs.... ciao

So...i mean I can see his point, he tried to make me see it by saying "oh yeah, well how would you like it if I brought home 3 dogs and 2 cats?" to which I got very excited and asked when they would be arriving That doesn't work on me, lol my opinion is the more the merrier! Where are they gonna get better care then here?

Yup. Same here. I've wanted ferrets since I met hubby 5 years ago and he finally caved in December. Now, I catch him walking around with one or another lounging in his arms while he does chores or what-not. They've definitely got him wrapped around their little fingers.
