i would not worry. ferrets love it cold. i'd put the window a/c on low setting at night and on medium during the day (and set it to auto so it is not running continuously). or you can leave the a/c on a low setting all the time but also install a ceiling fan and then run the fan along with the a/c during the day when it is hottest. also get one of those thick light blocking curtains. or make your own curtain out of a thick black material. and paint the room like a baby blue color. or maybe like a jade color. i may sound crazy to everyone here, but i think they respond to the color of the room. seriously. at my parents house, the walls were white. i didn't really have a choice in the matter. i lived in that house for 9 years and the whole time my ferrets always had stress related issues and their adrenal problems were always alot worse (even though i had light blocker curtains that blocked out ALL light from the room). when i moved out of my parents house i painted my room a dark beige. i think it really relaxed them alot. the adrenal symtoms seemed to be better (they weren't on any adrenal meds at that time, not even melatonin).

We have black curtains that cover half the windows, that wall color idea is interesting, our ferret room is painted purple, we had all female ferrets at the time, now it's 3 to 1 males to females, lol!
