Well Jinx had quite the excitement today! We had an appointment ot get her first distemper booster this morning in town (25 mins away), and I wanted to stay there for awhile just in case she had any reaction to the vaccine (which she luckily hasn't so far, and hopefully wont!). So we went visiting We went and got my eyebrows waxed and she ran around sniffing everything in the salon afterwards, we went to the post office where every person working in the front as well as in the back (and half the patrons) had to come out and get a look at her We went to my work and got to sniff all the hallways and employees which was apparently just a blast. We went to the bank, and to the pet food store AND to visit her grandpa, where we got stopped 3 times between the parking lot and his apartment lol. By the time we got to her grandpas we had been out and about for over 3 hours and she actually (after fully sniffing everything in the house of course) laid down on my and passed out for 10 minutes and then slept on the way home too. Woke right up when we got home and ate some soupie and went back into her cage so I can leave for work The busy life of a ferret.

Oh that sounds like so much fun! No pictures?!?! What a precious little girl. Just curious, did she have any accidents on her adventure?

Nope, I bring a small litterbox with me in the car. I put her in and out of it everytime i get in or out of the car before we went into somewhere. I do bring baggies and papertowel in my purse just in case though She thought about having an accident at her grandpa's because she started trying to back into a corner, but I piicked her up and put her in her litterbox and she went in there. Normally she doesnt go the whole time we are out, I think she gets too distracted by all the smells and forgets to go. But we were out for quite awhile today so I was glad when she did indeed go

That sounds like fun! She should've gotten a pedicure at the salon, though.

It sounds like she had a blast, and you've now got one very tired ferret- the best kind to have when you have to go to work ;D

What a lot of fun....she will expect this type of entertainment every day ;D ;D I'm sure you may have a very tired fuzz for a couple of days. I know that my guys usually take a couple of days where they're a bit snoozy. ciao

Awww how wonderful! Those are the some of the memories you cherish with your pet forever, in my humble opinion.

Haha I just her up this morning to check on her to make sure she was still fine from getting her shot and she was like omfg mom i'm sleeping! Starring at me, and blinking and lots of stretching and yawning lol It's nice to have a half day off so I can do stuff like that with her. She behaves really well on car rides and stuff I just generally dont have the time to dolong trips like that so it was nice to get a chance She seemed to like it.

How Sweet! Sounds like a wonderful day. Did you have her in a carrier or on a leash? I was just curious about people being ok with you bringing her in places? I took Clovis and Vanilla Bean to the vet for their annual and then we went to Pet SuperMarket and I let them walk around on their leashes and Clovis kept trying to steal toys! It was too cute. But they too were absolutely exhausted when we got home.

When I take ours out, I use the carrier seatbelted in place in the car, and a halter leash, along with a quilted bag I have for them to snuggle in when out and about. So far, I've had no problems taking them into a number of places.

Yeah I was wondering how the different places reacted to a little ferret running around

I think as long as it's not a place animals are not normally allowed into, it should be fine.

I bring her in her carrier in the car, because she wants to sniff everything in the car and I can't imagine trying to hold her while driving haha, but once in places I would just carry her in with her harness and leash on and if they let me I would put her down and let her walk around. The bank i didn't put her down i just held her and the same with the post office because those arent really places you normally bring pets into. But the salon I put her down and let her roam around because i'm friends with my hairdresser and she was the only one working that day. The pet food stores are fine with her running around as long as she's on a leash cuz she tries to rip open all the food bags and steal the toys lol.
