So...after the long fights, and long time... Meeko has finally been able to have a good night sleep.
As many of you know he's been in REAL rough shape for awhile. It got VERY bad the past ~3 days, VERY bad. His regular vet. is away on vacation till mid-week, and the ER vet here in the area decided there's nothing they could do for him besides exploratory surgery to possibly find a reason, or hook him up to machines.
I'm a firm believer in palliative care, we each have a quality to our lives. The technology to have persistent vegetative states of organisms is there, the technology to help maintain a positive quality of life is also there...
Due to Meeko's inability to walk for the past ~2days combined with him having accidents all over himself and clogging up his rear and the sudden stopping of eating once again...even refusing force feeding again, also the decline in his over all health left his current vet. very confused and didn't have a plan of action outside of des. and in Meeko's condition he wouldn't have been able to live positively for the next ~2 weeks until it kicks in...there's NO way.
So...we thank you all for the support through all of this. truly you all have been more of a help then any will know...We know now that Meeko can finally sleep a good night sleep, he can finally hop around and dook freely and not have to worry about his meds. or getting poked or proded...He was such a brave boy through it all, again thank you all...~
