What I did was this
Get a towel. Get some oil. Sit In chair with towel on lap. Get bowl of food.
Get fuzzy and scruff. Make sure their butt is supported in your lap. Wait for yawn, or just hold food very close to nose/lips and see if he will lock it. Cover the piece in oil to entice him. If he yawns, gently put the piece In his mouth, and push gently to prevent it from falling out the side. Repeat until he eats a piece.

I got him to take a teaspoon or so off the spoon and a few licks out of the bowl. However, scruff and stuff is still a no go. Every time I scruff him he struggle so hard that I'm afraid I'll hurt him if I keep hanging onto him. I did get him to take one little chunk by quickly poking it into his mouth while he was licking it. The next time I tried that he spat it out though.

Oh he is stubborn! Okay, so let's back track. Can you make a nice smooth soup (like yogurt but maybe a little more watery). This way, we can slowly introduce the concept of chunks.

Just gave him about 2.5 tsp before bed. The first spoon he took willingly and then to get him to take more I added a bit of ferrettone. About how much is a good meal?

It ranges. Summer time ferrets eat a lot less. Normal meal is about 1-3 oz. 2.5 tsp is about half an oz, so it's on the low side. However, if his energy is up and he's not losing weight, I wouldn't be too concerned. How much did he eat total for today?

Yesterday he had a total of four teaspoons, I think. He doesn't seem as playful lately but he still likes to wander around my room, try to get behind the bed, shove his carrier around, etc. ;D

I have the new soup made and he seems to like it. It has a chicken breast, two livers, two hearts, half a teaspoon of powdered egg shell, and a cup of water. So far today he's had 4 teaspoons of the old soup and about half a teaspoon of the new (just introduced it). He accidentally took a couple of chunks from the old and ate them instead of spitting them out, so that's good.

It could be that the chucks were putting him off, so he wasn't eating as much. I have the new soup made and he seems to like it. No, he hasn't had kibble since Thursday, I think. I have another overnight tonight So I will offer him some more around 8 (hopefully that's long enough for him to work up an appetite) and then put fresh in his cage right before I leave. I'm keeping track in a word document of how much he eats and when, when I feed him. So I can post that daily as well.

That's good. Hopefully he enjoys the new soup and eats a bit more. Posting that would be good (just for documentation purposes, especially when the mods go through the threads).

Oh, so he is actually pretty big! (he looks so dainty in his siggy pic NO OFFENSE Remus!) Considering his weight and age, I think we should be shooting for around 1-2 oz a day in food consumption. That's 6-12 tsp daily. So hopefully he will be hungry this evening!
