After over a week of raw soupies, freeze dried, and countless scruff n stuffs, I FINALLY got Jasper to eat some raw chicken soup off a spoon!!!! I hope this wasnt a fluke. Now all five are eating it I need to make it more consistent though, so I can take their kibble away. How much should five ferrets be eating in a meal? I have 1/2 pound commercial blocks and ive been giving them a quarter to a third of that in soup form.. Sometimes they dont eat it all BUT that could be because theyre full of kibble. Just wondering how much i should prepare each morning/night so I dont accudentally starve them when i take kibble away ( hopefully in a couple days now that jaspers eating!!)

First off Congratulations It's so fanatastic. Now....you mention 5 ferrets. These are how old? male? or female?...mixture of both? These are all factors that will weigh on how much you feed to keep these wee ones comfortable. Another thing is that what will keep a ferret who's been eating raw for a few years happy wouldn't even touch the amount needed to keep a newly swithched ferret happy. My wee girlies eat about 2 oz, my boys about 4 oz give or take. ciao

And don't forget- on soup or even a grind, they'll eat more than they will on whole raw chunks since they don't have to chew it. Right now, our 9 eat about 12-16oz for breakfast, since it's a commercial grind of meat/bone. With the whole meats at night, I feed about an ounce to two ounces each. However- when our newest four were just switched, those four alone ate about 12 ounces of the grind for a meal There is a massive appetite surge when first switched(only for a month or two) where they eat double what they wind up ultimately eating.
