So, I'm preparing all my ingredients and supplies to begin the raw switch for all 3 of our babies. My question being, I eat as much organic when and if I can, with that said... The chicken that I will be getting as well as the liver / hearts, would those being organic based have any benefits? Downfalls? Just curious, as our vet for Meeko has told us he possibly had a spill with salmanila* (sp?) so I'm overly concerned with trying my best to make things as 'perfect' as can be for the switch, so please any and all attributing comments!

If you can afford to feed them organic, go for it! Fewer chances of antibiotics, etc. As for salmonella- they are more likely to contract it from kibble

In the U.S> poultry cannot be fed all the antibiotics, but in theory, organic should be less contaminated - fewer poisons to process and accumulate in the body.
Remember that ferrets eat a lot of fat - I save the trimmings from the meats we eat in a tub in the fridge. I get quite a bit of food just from trimmings - it saves time and human calories as well because I can trim more liberally knowing that food will not be wasted...so the brats eat well and we eat a little less meat, which is good for us too.
