Like any oil, it goes rancid if its exposed to air for too long. You will definitely know if it goes bad so you don't need to worry about feeding yucky oil People refrigerate it to keep it fresh, but I don't keep any oils in the fridge. I think it's okay as long as its closed air-tight, and stored in a place away from direct heat. It's better for them to advise refrigerating rather than a customer complaint that their oil has spoiled because it wasn't stored properly, right? :3

I refrigerate all salmon oil that has been opened.
It stays fresher and stinks less if it's kept cold.

thank you....i will from now on put salmon oil in the fridge i didnt know that it keeps it fresh.....i just learned something new
