OK so it's about a dog but you guys know more about raw than anymoe My 9 month old Pomeranian/Chihuahua is on Paw Naturaw frozen raw chicken and turkey patties along with the paw naturaw dehydrated bison. She was formerly on a home-cooked chicken, beef, and veggie diet and before that By Nature Organics canned. She was eating almost 5 oz of home cooked per day, but I feel fortunate to get 2 oz of raw into her. She will not eat it. Period.NO amount of raw egg yolk, peanut butter or fish oil will change her mind. This has been going on for weeks. I thought she would get used to it, but I STILL have to force feed her twice a day. She is otherwise healthy and has a great appetite other than the chicken/turkey -she loves the bison and gets a tablespoon of that a day as well, and was more active when I increased her to two tablespoons and decreased the chicken. Her activity level had gone down a bit although she maintained her weight at 7.4 lbs. Should I put her on an entirely red meat diet? I just got another job and should have my check for that soon, and than I'll have the $$$ to switch to Paw Naturaw bison rolls and raw advanage beef. I can't get the proper ingredients around here to do home-made and my mom is still freaked out enough by me feeding her pre-made raw. No way would she let me do it myself without a fight. She's still convinced that raw is evil and Oreo needs Purina

Oh, joy! Don't you just adore the Purina crowd ;D It's quite possible that either she simply doesn't like the chicken, or it might even be a bit off. If at all possible, can you try a different bag of the chicken and turkey?

Try freeze dried. They are more willing to eat that. Although I can't complain. My dog is like a garbage disposal. He'll eat anything

Oh yeah Sherry. She's also still lobbying to get my cats off their Wysong Uretic-grainfree canned-raw combo and back on the Walmart dry house brand they ate before I knew better and took over, and still thinks the supplements I give (even taurine and l-carnatine) will kill them or something. I can't afford to get another package of frozen chicken and turkey if I also want to get her the red meat, but the aforementioned cats LOVE it so I'm sure it's not bad - in fact when I buy the next batch of dog food I'll award them the poultry. It does have slightly more vegges than the cat version but at their age I don't want to protein-load them anyways.I've been trying to get ahold of the company to ask more about their dehydrated chicken and turkey...it's absolutely impossible. The customer service is horrendous lol

Have you tried other types of raw? Mithrandir will not, would sooner starve to death than eat chicken or turkey. He eats beef, pork, a lot of tripe (mainstay of wolfhounds), loves venison. If you want him to eat poultry...forget it. Won't do it. He's not allergic as far as I know. ciao
