who ever said that "you can't teach an old dog new tricks", didn't know jake. he came into our home at the age of 8. he had know idea of what a rule was, after all, his previous owners let him jump on the counters and eat off the plates in the sink. he was also aggressive towards other dogs. after comming to us, he learned all his basic commands, and learned that other dogs are for play and not for lunch we also learned how much he loved to ware clothes. he would through a fit if he didnt have a shirt on. he was with us for only 4 3/4 years. in the past 6 months, his health has been going down hill. but during the night he had what we think was a stroke. so at 11:15 this morning, Janurary 6, 2013, he was helped to the rainbow bridge. he will be missed greatly, but he will not be alone. his sister, daisy, the Bassett hound is up there waiting for him. before he slipped away, he turned his head in my direction, as if to say "thank you"!
R.I.P little man. 4/8/00 - 1/6/2013

I am so sorry for your loss Sheila. But I know he had a wonderful home with his people, who taught him what love really is.

I am so sorry. I had two toy poodles, they were the smartest dogs I ever had. I miss them so much. Soon memories, will feel the emptiness and you will smile when you think of Jacks antics

I am sorry you lost Jake but I am sure he will always be with you in your heart. I have a miniature poodle as well. When I lost my first one Pepsi it was so heart recking till one night I had a dream where she came back for a day and I got to spend one last day with her. I even felt like she was curled up on me sleeping. After that night I had peace. I hope you get that peace and know he is in a happy place always watching you and all your critters.
