So I made a gizzard mush and put that on top of the gizzard chunks and it went well. Pixie ate 2-5 small pieces, Trixie pigged out on the rest. They got chicken wing, and hopefully I can make it to the pet store in the next hour to buy some mice

So I got some mice! Yay! 6 pinkies and 2 fuzzies for now. They were kinda pricey I want to find a cheaper place to buy them locally.

They ate the pinkies! One was fleet without a body and the other two were scruffed and stuffed. They didn't seem to happy about it, but they did get eaten! I'm repeating it again for breakfast tomorrow!

Yaay! Keep it up and they will be eating whole prey like champs! When they will eat the whole pinkies on their own, go ahead and try fuzzies. It wouldn't hurt to try them now, but I find it is easier to get them past the whole fur issue if they already are familiar with and like the taste of what is under the fur. Keep me posted and I will be expecting the number of ferrets I am helping you switch double here in a few days! ;D

So they ate chicken wing for dinner. Pinkies again for breakfast - they were breaded in freeze dried. Pixie licked all of them, and even bit into them a couple times. Hopefully they will realize its food and eat it. I have to admit, I didn't think it'd bother me as much as it is. I saw those cute little pinkie faces and felt a little bad

Yeah I just don't look at their faces. Besides, as you go up in size they get less cute. The fuzzies are the hardest because they are the cutest. Pinkies I think are gross so they don't bother me - unless I look really close at the face and realize how much they look like puppies. haha So I just don't look! You get used to it too the more you feed whole prey. I wasn't bothered at first by f/t because I had already been feeding my snake. It was starting live where I got a little anxious. But again, they learn, you learn, and you get used to it. It is for their good. Let me know if they eat them! *fingers crossed*

My fingers are crossed! If they won't eat it try halving it. Is it mixed in with their regular meats? That should help if not.

Whole prey is typically good for about 48 hours, though sometimes they will decide it needs to "age" a little longer than that. Do not get discouraged just yet! Like I said before, getting them past the Fur is the hardest part. For their next meal, mix some pinkies into the meat (pick one you know they really like), as well as some chopped up fuzzies, Mix the meat with a spoon (or something) so that the "chicken" or whatever meat, flavor gets all over the fuzzy pieces, and so that the fuzzy pieces are well mixed into the other meats. This may help to trick them into that first taste, and then they will go from there. It might take a few tried and it might come down to more scruff and stuff. Keep in mind they JUST learned to eat pinkies and may not particularly "like" the mouse flavor yet. As they learn to love mice flavor, it gets a bit easier. Just keep trying.
