Ok they weren't babies, but as some of you might know, I live in a small town that has two privately owned petshops, neither of which normally carry ferrets.
Well I was at work today and my best friend told me that she saw two ferrets at the one petstore. I have decided to not get another ferret at this time, but was very interested to see the ferrets that they had. So in we went to check them out. Well, they were SO cute. I've never seen 8-10 week old ferrets in person before and they are adorable There was what I think would be a sable (he looked a bit chocolately in colour but I think he would maybe darken as he aged?) and there was another one who was marked alot like Jinx.
So I asked if they were boys or girls, and if I could see them. The guy said they were boys and he wasn't sure if i should hold them because they were nippy. I said no problem I own a ferret (pfft...practically an expert, had her for 3 WHOLE months ), I assumed since they were little that they might be nippy anyways.
Well....apparently what my newbie self thought was meat by young ferrets "nipping" was really quite off lol because when this boy GOT me on the hand, my goodness! I just scruffed him until he yanwed and let go but holy h*ll haha I will never again call what Jinx does sometimes while we are playing nipping because this boy nearly took a chunk outta my hand. So I supported his bum and kept him scruffed while I checked him out and was much more careful about where his brother's mouth was located lol
So yeah, that was my first baby experience. Was certainly eye opening lol I really apparently misjudged just how hard babies bite when they are umm "playing", unless of course he was not used to being handled and we were freaking him out not sure, but he didn't seem overly distressed by the handling. Regardless, they were both SOOOO cute, I can't imagine how cute they would have been like 2 weeks when they were even smaller
