1. Where did you first learn about natural diets for ferrets?
I was trying to find a natural remade for fleas on ferrets and on the sites they said that raw mean was better and i had heard of that for dags and cats from someone.
2. Please describe the type of diet you would like assistance in switching your ferret(s) to. Be sure to include if you are interested in feeding whole prey (live or frozen-thawed) and if you are wanting to FULLY switch to a natural diet or PARTIALLY. If you are unsure what kind of diet you want to put your ferrets on, please express that and we can help you find the best type of natural diet for your ferret.
Well.. I Would really love to just have raw meals ready for them to thaw and eat every day and work up to incorporating in frozen or live mice- but if i leave for a day or something, id love to be able to give them kibble and have them eat it. so i guess I'm trying to say is that i want to feed them raw and whole pray and the occasional live.... but still be able to give them kibble if I'm not there to give them those....
3. Why are you interested in switching your ferrets to a natural diet?
To Improve mind and body for my girls and enshur that they donotg develop the common illnesses that occur later on in life of the House ferrets in North Amarica, due to poor diets and ect... and they seem to have more fun with it..
4. Do you understand that switching your ferret to a natural diet can be a lengthy, arduous process? Its not an overnight switch. It can be a commitment of several weeks or even months. Your HF Mentor will be more then happy to assist you in switching your ferret(s) to a natural diet, but you need to be equally as committed. If you aren't willing to tough out a potentially lengthy switching process, or if you have major life changes approaching (baby on the way, moving, starting school, getting married/divorced, etc) then it might be a better idea to wait on switching your ferret's diet until you have more time. Are you willing to make the commitment?
Absolutely, i don't have anything like that and just want them to be 100% and happy
5. How many ferrets do you currently have? What are their names? Ages? Genders? Do they have any health problems? Are they overweight? Underweight? How long have you had each ferret for?
I have two female, sable, Tia and Sage. They are both 2 years old, bonded but not blood sisters. I have had them both for just under a year... if i were to judge their current weight it would be under, Iv taken Tia to the vet and she said that they both have different body types- one boomerang(sleek sporty) and one cubbyer(pet able teddy)
6. What diet do you currently feed your ferrets? (Please include all treats, supplements, etc)
I Do not give them supplements and the only treat they ever take or i give them from the pet store for ferrets is ferratone- but its just for cutting their nails and stuff. the Only kibble they get is Evo The Ancestral Diet. Should i buy diffrent types of kibble for them and mix it or something?? i would really appreciate any advice on kibbles, proper ratios for mixes, how much and how often??
7. Have you ever tried to switch your ferrets to a natural diet in the past? If yes, what happened?
Yes! I Did,And I succeeded in getting them to eat it-BUT after awhile they would only eat off my fingers( or were vary hard to get them to eat from the bowl) also I had No idea or preparations and How much for what days, and proper proteins and calcium with organs- i gave up because i felt i was doing them more harm then good.... so i stopped but now they have lost weight and love the raw better( but the kibble is a absolutely square meal. . . . right??) but This Is why I'm Doing this to Get The PROPER Information on weekly menus and dinner plan and what to look for if u have given them too much liver or too little calcium.... PLEASE Help Me- what do u feed your ferrets every week? do u switch to a different menu every week and alternate between two different week menus?? if u know what i mean?
I Was Just too not shur and when i looked for More information on the other sites they were on no help for people wanting menus- only tips did they have
8. What additional information about yourself or your ferrets would you like to share?
They sleep allot more now that iv stopped the raw and lost weight- they Have Fleas and i live in the basement of a house on Vancouver Island B.C Canada, I'm 16 and had two male ferrets before this, I have dealt with other hurdles relating to the ferrets so i know that i can Manage this with the proper counseling
9. How often during the week do you have access to a computer?
Everyday, I have a Small laptop my grandma lets me use 24/7 if i so desired- they also have a wireless computer in their room
10. Please post a picture of each of your ferrets (if possible).
I Will Give you a picture of them after your first reply-- its just that i don't have access to a camera ATM but tomorrow i can get one and ill load the picture when we talk next?? or i can do it sooner if that would be better??
Thank You So So Much with this help i can finally give them the proper diet, I Genuinely mean this- You Are Wonderful P.S This Site Is Alot Easyer to use and grate too see up and running
