We got the cats some canned Salmon and canned shrimp for Christmas and I was wondering if they would be safe for our ferret to have a little bit as well. I'm guessing the salmon would be seeing it's in many of the cat food that is also suggested for ferrets, but I wasn't sure about the shrimp. Thanks Karen & Kicks

I would check to see if they have added salt. If they do, you might only want to give them a small amount as a treat, not as a meal If they don't have added salt then I think they should be OK, I have fed my ferrets both salmon and shrimp (raw). Canned will be cooked though.

Agreed. If it says "packed in water" it should be good as a treat.

they are packed in water - I was planning to give it to all 3 (2 cats and Kicks) as a treat - may share the salmon with the dogs as well seeing they love the kibble with salmon. Thanks Karen & Kicks
