A lot of you don't know me, I have been MIA for a year or so on the OG HF forum due to computer dying. I see a lot of people I don't know and I still see some which I do and it is nice to see them still around.
Anyway a little about me my name is Jessica, I am 23 (just turned on march 12th) and live with my boyfriend Jay who is 27 in Knoxville TN. We have four ferrets Loki (7ish), Rolo(3), Mr. Bean(2) and Edgar(2). Two girlie Gerbils Zip and BB, a Rat named Cheese and a Ball Python named Cleopatra (Cleo).
Loki was a rescue at about 1 1/2 years old in 2006 living in an empty ferret nation 142 with only 2 hammocks by herself not let out to play very much or sociaized with because her owner was a busy college student. She did not really know how to be a ferret. She was fed "some kind of food from wal-mart" and had scooping clay cat litter in the box. Her teeth back teeth were gunky and horrible. Her nails were long and when i cut them they split. Her ears had black wax she smelled strong, her fur was short rough and tacky feeling from the litter. She would sleep in her litterbox sometimes. I got her onto some better kibble and started brushing her teeth. Within 2 months i got her Rolo then Mr. Bean and then Edgar all as kits. I went from 1-4 in a year.
I have always fed some kind of raw soup but didn't get around to fully switching them to raw until 2009. They have all been off kibble since october 14th 2009. I do not miss kibble and am so happy with the quality of life feeding raw has provided my ferrets in such a short time. It only took a few weeks of being on raw until my elderly lady Loki's (Shes about 7 now) teeth looked like kits teeth again. I was able to get her teeth back into decent shape from brushing them but once she started on the raw the rest of the gunk vanished. She is a little spitfire of a fire and still loves to play rough and tumble with the big boys. She does have a tendancy of crashing out before everyone else but i tell you what when this girl plays she plays harder then the others sometimes. Rolo is a sweatheart who wants attention 24/7 and will cuddle up on anyones lap shes not picky. Mr. Bean is a typical 2 year old always being quirky and bouncing he has a personality unlike the other 3 at all hs nuts! Edgar is also 2 him and Mr. Bean pair up and there play like psychos and like to pick on the girls lol. He is a sweety too he isn't so much of a cuddler but he loves being carried around and picked up and petted and kissed on every 2 and a half seconds. He follows me around the house a lot of the time and will flat ferret outside the doorway if i go into another room. Hes the baby for sure and he knows he is too.
