So I have new neighbors... And they've brought animals.. Lots of them. I have spotted close to 5 cats chilling in my backyard, and two dogs. These cats free roam. These cats have fleas (and who knows what else  ) I usually use Revolution for my babies, but I really try to keep it to a minimum. I mainly use it for the heart worm protection. Anyway, to the point. I want to naturally treat my yard. Every time I take my girls for a walk, they come back with more fleas.  What are some natural, affordable ways to treat my yard so that it is safe for all animals that wander into it? I have about a quarter acre or so. Any advice is appreciated  |

I've always heard mixed things about DE. Is it safe for ferrets? My girls love to dig in the yard, and I don't want them to get sick or inhale bad stuff.

I use it, and I haven't had a problem. I also haven't had a problem with fleas since I began using it Once it settles on the ground, even when they dig it doesn't seem to stir up any more than "regular dirt" does, especially if you let it settle for a couple of days. And they can ingest it without worry - some people use it as a wormer for all sorts of animals, including humans, dogs and guinea pigs...  To be honest, I've accidentally inhaled the stuff when spreading it. I didn't have any coughing fits or anything like I've read. Of course, I would never do that to my fuzzies!  It was an honest mistake lol |

Okay, thanks! I will probably have to pick some up. Is it safe to rub directly on the ferrets to kill the fleas?

I know there's something on the old forum about it. If I remember correctly, it's too dusty to put directly on them. Some use it dampened, but I *believe* that really reduces it's effectiveness.

Their was another thread that was about the war on fleas. If you like I'll put as many flea war thread links up as I can find in the old forum, new forum, and possibly some that are lost in cyberspace like my home land. no school tomorrow, maby the computer won't be so broken tomorrow. 10:38 and good night.

Where are my pictures??? ;D I'der mom is being lasy, theirs so many it will take days for her to finish puting them on, or more likely and closer to my belief, shes playing keep away and won't send me them unless i remind her 24-7 . Or i can try sneaking on her computer and sending them to me if she goes 5 days longer. |
