Red reishi mushrooms also have an anti cancer effect, as well as anti histamine, and anti inflammatory. And the co enzyme q-10 (coq10). A healing candle is lit for little Lulabelle

You should be able to get the above at a local health food store.

You know, at least you are attentive. How many owners get completely surprised by JL? I think you could have a leg up by knowing how she was never quite right. Sending happy thoughts your way that you can make some headway versus the disease.

The two brands that Jennifer/mustelidmusk recommended for red reishi is Host Defense and New Chapter. The dose is normally 1/4 capsule per ferret/day (for maintenance), but maybe up it a little since she already has lymphoma? I'm not sure about that though. I know this was for a mast cell tumor, but it might be a good regimen for any cancer: holisticferret60.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=vetting&action=display&thread=652&page=1Here's a link for a success story using essiac (also a guild): ferrethealth.org/archive/FHL8199Also, Timmy's Tonic looks intriguing. I would look into that as well. I would consult Jennifer/mustelidmusk since she knows the most about this sort of thing. I hope you get to keep her for much longer (and in a healthier state .

I took her out of the top level of her two 143's I put together for them (the top level was Lulabelle's ICU pretty much, the four others get the rest to themselves) and put her in the bathroom because I couldn't keep upwith the messes she is making in the cage and all the laundry. I have a marble floor so I don't care if it gets messy in the bathroom, and I wn't hae to do so much laundry. Pottying is normal, she just isn't doing it in the litterbox (rolls eyes) which she does every time she lives by herself - she uses the box when her sisters are living with her and that's just about it.
So I put 3 things I know Lulabelle loves (minus the octopus, I can nver get her out of it! she always sleeps in it and can never geth er out) which are paper bags, a tennis ball, and a water bottle. I check in on her very often, and I am keeping her door open so I can hear everythign she does (I live in a small studio, so I"m close by) to see how she does. She's been sleeping most of the time, but she apparently just realized I put a paper bag in there. I can hear her rolling around in the bag, and I pulled the bag up to her food bowl where she has a mixture of chicken hearts ground up with lotso f water (she wont drink out of the water bowl) and some pumpkin. It is Lulabelle crack, dont know why. I need to go out and get her some more turkey baby food today - she ran out last night. So she is poking her head out of the little paper bag and eating the food from there then going bak into the bag and rolling around.
So, she is eating fine (less than usual, but still has a great appetite although I need to heat it up and present it to her, sometimes spoonfeed her then all of a sudden itsl ike shes starving and her head is all the way in the bowl) and pottying is fine, and hse is grooming herself. She is keeping weight on. SHe is still alert, she perks up every time I come in and definitely perks up when she sees food.
She is having a hard time breathing though, even still 2 days on prednisolone. I am going to clal the health food store which is where I do my grocery shopping and see if they have the reishi and coq10. Her spleen is really gigantic too =/ She also has one eye watering for some reason, not discharge - just watery, and one one eye. Her xrays show enlarged heart, spleen, and kidneys. Exotics vet said if I can stabilize her on the Pred there are other things I can try afterwards, although it will be prolonging the inevitable =/

I do know the pred will enlarge the spleen as well, but she's not been on it long enough for that. I'm assuming it's enlarged because of the lymphoma. I'm glad she's still enjoying herself yet, here's hoping she gets stabilized enough to continue doing so for a while yet.

I'm so sorry that Lullabelle is not doing well. I will light a healing candle for her. In a case like this, one enjoys day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute. The enlarged spleen is caused by the lymphoma. Pred will buy you time together. Give your little sweetie a big hug from me. She is truly a treasure and like all treasures they never last long enough. Good luck, I hope the Essiac buys you time. Juvenile lymphomas is a cruel disease, picking on the young and stealing far too early. ciao

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that Lulabelle has JL... I wish I could give you some advice on how to treat it or how to keep her comfy but I can't.... I can however say a prayer for both of you.
