yes it is! a while back, I checked with my vet about this since we use it all the time in the grooming salon and I prefer to use it at home for my kids.

Nice! That's awesome! Of course, I don't mind buying him separate toothpaste, but I'd rather use what I have

You can also make your own. Grind up some cuttle bone it even eggshell powder and mix it with a bit of oil. Fish oil would likely go down better.

Do you guys brush regularly even though they eat bone? Just wondering if I should be doing this and how regularly...must be a trip! LOL

I haven't brushed since they came off kibble. No problems with teeth here. It really depends on their genetics when they are eating bone. As well as how they chew. Some seem to have one tooth that keeps missing the bone. Check their teeth, especially the back molars for tartar. If there isn't anything, you'll be ok.

If I see tarter on mine I use the C.E.T. cat chews. They think they are getting treats so it is a win win. I've had really good results with them and some of the neglected ferrets I get in.

I will try those as well! I'm not looking forward to brushing teeth, the cats HATE it, and without my brother to restrain them while I out in in their mouths I'm probably going to have some issues.

Enough to make a thick paste. It depends on how much you use of each? Grind your cuttlebone and add oil by the drop until it's a thick paste.

just to let you know, the tropiclean gel does NOT have to be used with a toothbrush but it can be. all you need to do is squirt it on the teeth the best you can. it is activated by mixing with the spit. we use it with our animals and never use a toothbrush. just follow the directions on the bottle as to how often to use it. it dose say better with toothbrush, but i know from experience that its not needed. there are directions for if tarter is present and if there is no tarter present.

I have been doing research on going raw for my girls, but to be honest, I'm very nervous. My girls don't like canned tuna, boiled chicken or even raw eggs. Any tips on switching picky kibble eaters? I saw pet stores are carrying moist, refrigerated foods that are made of fresh meat and veggies, they look like little meat balls almost. i was thinking of weaning my girls on that while introducing them to raw. and @sherry, thank you for the help, I got some cuttle today!!
