Keeping your little one in my prayers the oh I have no idea how it happened vets seem to be on the increase !! I have just had dealings with one god you pay a fortune and your baby comes home worse than when he went in it gets me so mad why cant they take responsibility for things that happen to a animal while it is in there care ? and explain things fully to an owner we know there human and accidents can happen so why cant they admit to it and explain what treatments need to be done ( and they front the cost of putting right there wrong doing) instead of acting like gods and doing the oh we have no idea what happened speech ! think I would of been asking the question well if it happened while they were coming round why aren't precautions taken just incase ? ( a plastic collar on the neck for half an hour costs nothing while a ferret is coming round ! ) good luck with your baby sorry for the rant it just makes me so mad take care bye for now Bev

Well, good news guys! Booth's urine was perfectly normal at the vet today. It could be from the anesthesia. Also, his swelling has completely gone down. Definitely an allergic reaction to something. For now though, he seems to be doing pretty good. He's pretty alert and active (though he does lay down a bit still). So, for now we are good. Thank you all so so so much!!!!

That is so fantastic. I'm glad that your wee one is doing so much better. Like Bev, I'm a little more than peeved about vets who cannot admit to a mistake but rather have the client find it. When it's pointed out to them....they've no clue and sometime have the absolute audacity to say that it must have happened while in the clients care . ciao

This is awesome. I was so worried yesterday. I'm glad he seems to be recovering. What did they give him at the vet?

They actually didn't give him anything. They said the Bendaryl I gave him just took that long to kick in, most likely because I underdosed him. But they just watch him and it went down after three hours of being there. The vet checked him over and said the urine looks great, not thick, not cloudy, not smelly, and not green.
And that was it. I am very pissed he came home like that, but they didn't charge us for today, so that's good. I was half expecting them to since they keep saying it could be something at home, even though nothing is new and it started at the vets!

The freeby day....that speaks volumes in my mind. They know they did something wrong...wrong meds, goofed a procedure whatever.... ciao

Oh thank heavens he's doing better! I'm with Heather- the fact they didn't charge you says where the fault for this lies.

I guess I missed it on a different thread, but why did he have anesthesia in the first place? I know many ferrets have problems with it. I'm just glad he's doing better and hope he's back to normal asap.
