Bonkers crawled underneath the gaming chair. It rocks on the floor and Daddy rocked back with her under it.
It took a couple seconds -maybe 5 seconds - to realize she was under it. Her back legs were out, but the rest of her was under it.
We lightly poked her and made sure she could walk. She didn't make noises or flinch when being poked and walked alright.
About two minutes later, she seemed very dazed. So I picked her up and she just laid in my arms, which isn't like her.
Poked her more and she didn't react. Make a loud noise, she does though.
Put her in the cage and as she was climbing up the ladder, her back legs gave out for a moment and she quickly regained her balance and walked up. She is now sleeping.
I'm very worried. What should I do? It could be she was just so scared it made her really tired. I've seen her do that when she's tired.
But what do you think? I'll be waking her every 10 minutes or so. Is that too much?

I would take her to the vet, she could have broken bones, she could be in shock and not showing pain, etc. Hope she's OK This is why rocking chairs are not allowed in ferret-accessible areas of my house.

I would definitely be taking her to the vet, I would say the sooner the better. I am no expert but I'd be worried not only of broken bones but of possible internal bleeding if an organ got ruptured or something.
Better safe than sorry.

I'm in full agreement about the vet, but if I were you I would take your baby now, I wouldn't wait. Think of it this way - this was the equivalent of a car rolling over a human and in such cases people would immediately go to the hospital. There is too much potential for internal ruptures and breaks that something like this just can't wait. Please keep us updated!

The vet said to keep an eye on her and watch for vomiting, excessive sleepiness after a few hours of the incident, and watch to see if she has any normal stools. So I guess that is what I will do. If she is still real sleepy in about three hours (with excessive checking to make sure she will still wake up!) then I'll call the vet again and head over there. I'm so worried We're never supposed to get in that chair while they are out, but he was like "Oh, Kelly, stop worrying". Then it happened.

I'm really scared for your little one. It's like you worry when a child falls or is injured and doesn't cry. You rush them to the Dr. The same goes for a ferret. The fact that she didn't scream and is now lethargic really bothers me. Hopefully, nothing horrible has happened but I would hate to think of back injuries as these can take a while as the nerves die. ciao

Heather, we have had her out twice now to run, and she hops around alright. I just had her out again and she was running and walking fine. Her legs haven't given out on her since that one time which was soon after the incident.
However, I'm still pretty worried. Will be keeping a VERY close eye on her for the next couple of days.

Keep us posted. Fingers are crossed that she flattened herself fast enough to prevent serious injury and is only bruised and scared. ciao

Hope she pulls through o.k. but please, remove that chair entirely! No sense in pressing your luck with a repeat squashing.

OMG I am praying that she'll be alright. My ex ran over 2 of our cats in the driveway and both were ok after a week or so of soreness. I so hope Bonkers is ok. I love the name

We have removed the chair immediately after it happened. It stays in the closet unless he wants it out, which is rare. Bonkers seems to be doing much better now. I've had her out multiple times and she just runs like crazy. I saw her standing on her back legs only to get to some food I hung up in their cage. So that is a great sign I think we got lucky... Thank you all so much for your support. I never saw that as a danger since we usually don't rock it in. Eyes are wide open now though. I'll post an update if she starts to get worse, but for the moment I think we are in the clear.
