Phew, nothing like trying to nurse a sick animal, go to work and still finish major uni projects. I'm run right off my feet. The good news is that she seems to be improving still. She actually felt enough like herself to play for 5 or 10 minutes this morning and display some of her more goofy self Her bm's are all formed and the proper colour. So I was very glad to see that even if I was having a hard time keeping my eyes open. The bad news is the major project due this even still isn't done oi. At least today I only work until 130...hopefully 130-430 will give me enough time to finish it before class tonight! Now I must drag myself to work....

That's wonderful that she's feeling better. She may not be feeling strong enough to make use of the multilevel portion of her cage. My hospital cage is only one level and I cover it to make it darker, they seem to like that better. I can alway tell when Pooka's adrenal is making her feel crappy because she will sleep in the lower portion of the breeding den, rather than making use of the hammy. It's all about a carnivore seeking solitude, I think. When they're sick like that, I let them eat all they want. I don't think of limits. There is a lot of nutrition burned up when they're sick like that. ciao

Phew, what a day. Survived work and managed to get the project finished at the absolute last minute She was acting so much more like herself again today, she even played with me for 15 minutes before getting tuckered out. Spoke to her vet and she said I could bring her down to three injections a day since she's eating and drinking again and going to the bathroom consistently. So that made today easier as I wasn't sure how to fit in the 4th injection to begin with. So I think all is going to be fine Thanks so much to everyone in the thread who answered my questions and worried about my little girl along with me. The thoughts and time were greatly appreciated. *gives out group hugs* and Jinx would give out kisses if you guys were here I'm sure

Yay! Always glad to see a happy ending. Ferrets are heart attacks in disguise, and when they get sick, it is definitely stressful. I'm so Happy that Jinx is continuing to improve. We're all here to help and support each other :-)

So I shouldn't be concerned with her having abnormal poops? She's had a very watery one and a rather green one yesterday. But that's normal?

What was her last meal? Is she drinking and eating normally?

Is she still on antibiotics? If so, she'll be having some really funky poops for a bit. And since this is no longer an "emergency", I'm moving it to medical

She's back to eating Kibble and only getting one cube of soup twice a day. And yes she's still on her antibiotic. And she's still getting 2 injections of fluids twice a day. 6mls each time. Her energy level is back to normal, she's completely spazzy we've been Playing chase alot haha and I bought some ofthose plastic Easter eggs which are apparently great for chasing.
