I am concerned about an obstruction in my ferret. He is having dots come out when he defecates. He has been vomiting some and making a strange noise in his throat when he eats. My veterinarian won’t see him until tomorrow. He will have an ultrasound in the morning. Is there something I can do until then. I have tried different clinic and nobody will see him today

This forum is unfortunately not the place to go for emergencies, it’s 17 hours later and I’m just seeing this now. This sounds like a total blockage, a true emergency, as the intestines can wrap tightly around objects they can’t squeeze along the tract and possibly tear. Get your ferret anywhere that will take him and can do imaging and quite possibly surgery. There’s nothing you can do at home if it’s to the point that he’s vomiting.
For a partial or even suspected blockage with no vomiting, the protocol is to alternate feeding them pumpkin and Vaseline or another pure petroleum jelly, every half hour, back and forth, until the ferret starts passing large orange stools. Cat or ferret laxatives in tubes will work for the Vaseline half of the plan too, just don’t feed them for regularly occurring poop stressors. The only reason they’re not recommended for regular use is that they usually have a lot of sugar in them to make them appealing. Fine for emergencies. You may have to use a large (10 mL, human baby medication sized) syringe to force feed the pumpkin and Vaseline, as not all ferrets will eat them willingly. You can try mixing salmon oil or heavy cream into the Vaseline.
I hope everything works out for you!
