Hmm I have never heard of using a ph stick for checking diabetes in animals if that is why you are interested in it. My vet takes blood from the neck to check for that or a prick---I like the neck sample. Tech messed up on prick on my boy and did not get enough blood and it gave a false reading. They then did the neck because his reading was so low and he was youngish at time. They figured it might be wrong.
My vet just wants him to not eat at least two hrs before test. I have read 4 but she never told me that. Anyway, I would get a vet's input on the accuracy or use of those.

to use that you'd have to collect a urine specimen, which would be pretty difficult at home. You could just get your vet to check blood glucose whenever you are there.

Is there a forum page with all the raw food selling websites we use? I'm not aware. The HFF website has a lot ouf useful info, but I don;t think it's updated. I know that the food chart I used for years is way out of date, and a lot of the mfrs are gone. holisticferretforum.com/ I will try to find the latest

Why do you need to check the ph of your ferret's urine? Is the ferret developing stones or crystals in the urine? I have used test strips to test the urine ph before, but not necessary to do this if your ferret is healthy. There is a very old thread on this forum where we discuss urine ph test strips. It has to be under bladder stones in health section. I do not recall which brand I used. Tough because you have to dip it in fresh urine. You have to follow your ferret around after they wake up.

Is there a forum page with all the raw food selling websites we use? I get my raw grinds from Raw Feeding Miami. They ship by fed ex in dry ice. Very good grinds. Freeze dried raw I only use stella and chewy's these days. Casey's Hidden Pantry has the best prices for freeze dried raw.

Thanks! I don't have a ferret right now, but I want to make sure I have everything right for when I get one. I'm researching what I should check for in the urine that can show me if my ferret has stones or a UTI when he's feeling bad. So there's no ferret in danger right now, Miami ferret I found this: perfectlyrawsome.com/raw-feeding-essential-nutrients/

Hey! I have another question Do you know what the melatonin dose for ferrets is: to treat tumors or adrenal what is the max and min dose? Thanks! Also a side question: Would you recommend saline spray or colloidal silver for disinfecting? Is silver more dangerous? Thanks!

Fist, melatonin can help treat clinical signs (alopecia, vulvar swelling, aggression) of adrenal disease but it won't reduce tumors. It should be given about 7 hours after sunrise to help regulate circadian rhythym.
Most of us use vinegar spray for general cleaning and sanitizing 50% or stronger mixed with water. Let is set for a miute or 2 and it's about the best solution I have found to soften dried poop

I believe people give from 1-5 mg melatonin daily, 6-8 hours after sunrise. Start at a higher dose for the first week and then lower it gradually.
I think eclipso meant disinfecting ferret wounds- either one of those work, saline will be a lot cheaper though and is better for flushing out a wound to get dirt out. Silver is best applied in ointment form so it actually stays on and you get your money’s worth. I would use colloidal silver orally for gut bacterial overload help. It’s very hard to poison an animal with silver, but high amounts over time can turn the skin grey permanently.
If they did mean sanitizing surfaces, yes, vinegar works well. Just have to let it dry before putting ferrets back in the area as the smell can burn the nose and eyes.

ah, i hadn't thought of that. After cleaning the wound you can use triple antibiotic ointment too
