Officially began the transition to a raw diet with lamb soupies today. We recently discovered we live right down the street from one of the recommended balanced grind providers — Woody's Pet Deli — and bought a raw lamb grind (complete with bones, organs and heart). We defrosted some and made raw soupie and wow, what a hit! All 3 of our ferrets took to it almost immediately. Kona gagged at first, but then immediately went back in for more, lol. Marshmallow, our IBD boy, looked at us like, "What took you so long, moms?" and ate it right up. We didn't even have any trouble with our difficult, picky eater, Cinnamon.
Just wanted to share, feels like we took a big step today. We even left the grind lumpy and they were happily munching all of the various chunks, which bodes well for when we introduce chunks of meat, bone-in meat and organ. Hooray!
