Hey everyone!
My 6 month old ferret, Edmund, has had an excellent appetite since we brought him home especially since feeding him raw. At his last vet visit he was 3 lbs! He was eating a good 20% of his body weight per day, but recently it's gone down to about 10%. I think this is normal, and I had no concerns until these past few weeks.
He gets 2 meals per day, one in the morning and one in the evening. Normally, he is very excited to eat, finishes everything or almost everything, no problems. During these past few weeks when I go to feed him in the morning he will enter his feeding den, sniff the food or even lick it a little, then just walk out. Completely uninterested. Then, when it comes evening time, he will go in and eat a little, but not much. Yesterday, he only ate the egg yolk that was in his dish and left the rest.
I'm not sure if the change in seasons is causing a decrease in appetite, or what. He is otherwise super active and normal, normal poops, and so on. When we brought him home it was winter time, and here we are in spring. It pretty much aligns with his decreases in food consumption.
I just think it's so strange and seems a little bratty that he won't eat (lol) and has only been eating a little food in the evening. Again, everything else is entirely normal, no changes in energy or poops. Should I be concerned?
Thanks everyone!

It’s a combination of the change in seasons and his growing up, as they age into adulthood they will eat less. It’s fine. Just continue monitoring for health issues in case something is wrong, and decrease your offerings by a bit so that you’re wasting less. You’ll want to increase again once he starts finishing everything or when fall comes, whichever is first.

He's also drinking normally which I forgot to mention. Either way I will definitely continue to monitor for any changes and I'll take your advice on how much to offer. Thanks so much! (:
