Hey i was just wondering if anyones ferrets choose kibble over raw? its been almost a weeks since i made the switch, and my ferret is extremely good at eating what he is given but i feel like he prefers kibble?
i keep a 10kg bag for the other ferrets in my care as they are not mine i dont want to switch them as its not my place to do so, each time my ferret is out he is constantly looking for kibble scraps, and clawing at the glass to the spare vivarium i keep the bag in (so its out the way) in an attempt to get to the bag.
i know its only been a week so most likely isnt used to it yet but i cant help but feel im "making him unhappy" by feeding raw as im pretty sure if he had a bowl of kibble in there he would eat that instead.
i dont think its down to him being hungry, while he doesnt leave any meat spare after i lay it down, he does feel heavier and gained weight and i have tried offering a eggy treat which he turned his nose up, if he was that hungry he would of eaten it surely? he also has a ton more energy, i guess what im asking is for those who made the switch did your ferret try the same thing?

It’s made to be tasty junk food, basically. It smells and tastes stronger than most raw things aside from organs. Some ferrets will forever prefer kibble, unfortunately.

That makes sense, the worst in nutrients is the most tasty go figure, i suppose he is one of those ferrets and he is just going to have to deal with it i guess, as its clear its better for him he is under a year and wouldnt play for long he would play maybe 30mins before stopping he now goes for hours im even debating getting a friend this year for him to use his newfound energy on.
