My ferret gets loose stools occasionally (I've taken him in to the vet often, best explanation they can offer is probably IBS flaring up) and noticed some irritation around the anus. Def doesn't look like pictures I've found of prolapse thankfully, but I thought I'd try some prep h to keep things in check (read here it might be helpful). Of course, as soon as I finally manage to apply it he begins cleaning it off. Just worried about him ingesting this/possibly getting sick from it... anyone have any info/tips? Thanks!

You can apply pre H but hold and snuggle your ferret for 10 minutes and then distract to see if he will forget that his bum has been "assaulted". Gently wipe excess off trying to leave a light film but not sticky amounts that will encourage cleaning ciao
