So I had 3 ferrets, Ash, Marshmallow, and Chocolate that died. Chocolate kept losing weight when she ate way more that the others. Ash and Marshmallow just ate until they both had little tummy's. When this went on for a month, my mom said she will take chocolate to the vet. By what I was told, Chocolate was very weak and bony. She was happy once my cat came and the room while they touch noses and hang out. My mom would have taken to the vet around 6am when one would open but chocolate died curled up with my mom and passed away around 4am. I was at my dad's at the time so this all was I was told. I believe that Chocolate died of cancer which I know is very common for ferrets. I am not sure how she got it but if she was suffering I hope she is in a good place now no matter how much it hurts. I just am now wondering if the others should get checked out to make sure they are fine?

I'm sorry for your loss. Some cancers are very aggressive in ferrets and they can go fro healthy to gone in a short time.
It's always a good idea to have your pets see a vet at least yearly. I hope your others are fine.

So very sorry for your loss. Chocolate, your little angel will be at Rainbow Bridge happy and healthy and dooking with all the other ferrets that crossed to Rainbow Bridge too. Glad your mom was with her when she passed away to comfort her.

I am so very sorry for your loss It is hard losing one of these wee mites. And as uncle joe mentioned, cancers can become very aggressive with these little ones.

l am so sorry that your baby passed away. I hope you can smile eventually when you think of him. Dook in Peace little Chocolate. If one of your ferrets start losing some weight you may want to get them checked out for issues. It could be other things than cancer. I had a ferret lose weight some years back. And the vet did a stool sample and she had coccidia, which was treated. If your others have no weight loss then there may be no need of concern. But be alert to a ferret starting to lose weight. Here are some illnesses you can read about that ferrets get. holisticferretforum.com/health/
