I'm going to have to stop giving Alice these pork grinds I've been feeding her for over a year.
The meat itself has a slight odor but no worse than thawed out pork from the grocers.
For some reason though, it gives her horrific gas, belly aches and when she belches it's so strong it hits me from 4 ft. away. Nei had that same foul smelling gas before she died, but she also had a blockage. I think they had pork that day too. Alice's poops always look good though, despite the gas.
This has only happened on days I fed her pork grinds, it didn't start causing problems until half a year ago. At first the issue was rare but it has become progressively frequent. A year ago, before I started feeding them the grind version, the supplier had pork trimmings that didn't cause this problem, but they stopped having it in their inventory.
I may just have to substitute it with one of the other meats for now, I don't want to put her through any more discomfort.

Hi if it smells funny to you dont feed it any meat that is on the turn can cause bloat ( gas ) there are so many raw meats you can use in place of it if you like grind why not use ground beef or lamb yes you may think its expensive but a pound of meat goes a long way with only a few ferrets take care bye for now Bev

Alice is not a picky eater so I doubt she'll reject it, though to be on the safe side I should probably only get a month's worth for once a week schedule.

I think I would substitute. If she really likes pork, you can always just get some ground pork from the grocery store and give that for one meal a week as a treat.

ground mutton is a fantastic food as it is high in fat something they need plenty of to keep them on the move Bev
