Hello everyone! New ferret mom here. Just got my two lovely gals on July 30th to be exact! 10 weeks old and full of energy. They were on the Marshall's kibble diet, but have now been eating raw meat with bones for the past 4 days. They both took the meat naturally (lucky me). I would like to know what feeding routine you guy's do for your raw fed diet babies? Whenever I visit the butcher or asian markets, I get overwhelmed with the amount of meat and wanted to know what ferrets (or your ferrets) like the MOST, so I can start bulking up and meal prepping for them. For example: Monday AM: Chicken wings Monday PM: Turkey necks Tuesday AM: Quail Tuesday PM: Bison liver with beef heart Etc.... Thanks guys

Here's mine:
Monday: Pork + beef (muscle) Chicken wing + quail eggs (bone in + egg)
Tuesday Beef heart + pork kidney (heart + organ) Turkey neck (bone in)
Wednesday Frog leg (bone in) Quail + chicken egg (bone in + egg)
Thursday Pork heart + chicken liver (heart + organ) Turkey neck (bone in)
Friday Pork and lamb (muscle) *Quail for an evening snack (bone in) 3 mice+chicken egg (whole prey + egg)
Saturday Chicken liver + pork kidney + beef heart + pork heart (heart + organ) Chicken wing (bone in)
Sunday Beef/Lamb + quail eggs (muscle + egg) Frog leg (bone in)
It stays the same every week although sometimes I'll make a meal out of mixing together a couple incomplete portions of different things just to use them up. It's always good to have backup plans in case something you have been buying routinely stops becoming available, so you can fill in a gap in the menu. For years I'd been buying chicken hearts from a grocery store, but then the entire chain dropped the item from their system and wouldn't even special order it so I switched to pork heart. The pet store I drove to for duck necks lost their supplier for them and I eventually found a store that could special order frog legs.

You can also have a look at the completed switching threads for some examples, before being able to graduate, every mentee must submit a weekly menu that gets approved for them to graduate. holisticferret60.proboards.com/board/55/archivesSomething to keep in mind, is that not everyone follows a 100% Frankenprey only menu, some will include some commercial raw such as (frozen grinds or FDR), or include Whole Prey in their menu.

These are exactly the kind of helpful info I need since I’m a visual learner and really want to transition properly and ensure the proper portions.
