He vomited a few minutes ago and it was just sort of a watery spit as far as I can tell. He is now doing it again and I don't think he threw anything up this time. It was also really smoky in the kitchen (where he just was) and I've removed him from there and opened all the doors. He did get his canine distemper shot yesterday but has been perfectly fine for maybe 24 hours now. Is he ok? Thank you.

Have there been any other signs? Foamy or diarrhea poop? Is he eating and drinking normally? How are his energy levels? Check the color of his gums, are they normal pink or pale instead? Any fever?
Vomiting is a sign to look out for when a ferret has been given a vaccine, and while a lot of the time, the adverse affects will show up rather soon, some can be delayed quite a bit. Personally, I'd check back in with my vet, vaccines are a nasty business and bear many risks, I feel it's better to be safe than sorry.

Ok, thank you, I'll give a call. There are absolutely no other issues as far as I can tell, which is a really good sign. The room was way too smoky, so I'd consider that the most suspect if that causes throwing up at all, and he also wiggled his way underneath the bottom shelf under the counter, so I wonder if the dust and grime or even something he tasted down there might have done it.

They can gag and puke. It doesn't happen often thank goodness. Most common cause seems to be hairs caught in throat, or other stuff they shouldn't try to eat.
