Not a problem! If you do run into problems with him, don't be afraid to post back in here again, or on the regular board

Just a quick question--for the chicken feet, how many should/can he get/week? He LOVES them and I know they're a great source of glucosamine, but I'm just wondering if I can over-do it on the glucosamine??

Like anything else- moderation is the key. I'd say once a week should be good. He's going to get glucosamine in any cartilage.

Hey, Sherry! Time to switch over Memphis I tried soupies a couple times with him last night. He *seemed* to enjoy it, but he also tried to get away as quick as possible. He gets distracted easily and just wants to go, go, go! Because he really hasn't eaten (gave me the "I can't believe you, traitor!" Look when I scuffed him to try) I had to separate him from MoJo and put kibble in for Memphis. I hate to do it, but he went a long time without eating and I began to worry. I was reading up on Waardenburgs' in ferrets, so I believe he either has terrible hearing or is deaf. Not that I mind, he's an absolute doll. Loves to be all over everyone but I have a feeling he's going to be a bit more difficult to switch!

I think you might be surprised! Right now, he's finally got some space to run and explore for the first time in his life, and it might be taken away at any moment, so he has to do as much as he can, while he can ;D Keep hand him soupies during the day, and give back his kibbles at night for now. I realize that means keeping them separated at night time, but it's not forever. He'll also learn to pick up eating the raw from Mojo. That's how our Suki learned in fact

I was hoping that MoJo's eating habits would rub off on Memphis, but he's too busy trying to pry the bars of their cage to notice food I don't mind keeping them separated at night, as long as they get time together during the day. MoJo loves him, he's probably thrown a fit since I separated them today (I'm at work from 9-6 ) I'm going to let them tire themselves out when I get home, then give him more soupies! Keep you updated

WOW! I was just reading Memphis papers...HE'S TWO YEARS OLD!! I don't know how I didn't notice them at the pet store. Now I'm wondering "WTF?" I never went in to Pet Co before I got MoJo. Now I'm worried about having him with MoJo, if he's not seen a vet since being a kit. I am so mad at Pet Co!! Not that I'd bring him back, I love him to pieces. But pieing to consumers is SO not okay

Believe me- I can feel your pain When we got Sinnead, we were told she was 2 years old. We realized later, by examining her teeth, that she was closer to 4 or 5 when we got her Not that it would have changed me getting her, but I'd have been sure to have had more in my emergency fund at that time Alright! So, we are definitely going to have to go slower with the switch then. Not a problem! As for him being with Mojo- their(the store) vet would have had to look at him before he could be offered for sale. So hopefully mites, etc would have been taken care of. If he had a virus, or anything like that, you should notice soon Fingers crossed it's going to be fine! I really think I'd be doing an ADV test, just for your own peace of mind, though. It's a real nasty.

ADV, is that the one where you can order the test your self? Or must a vet test for it?
I wish I'd known he was older, I definitely would have saved more for the vet visit. Grrr, stupid people!!
I had them out playing after work, I'm going to let them settle a bit then try some soupies.

Yes, it is. It's the Elisa test. Just google it. It's from Avecon, really inexpensive, and really easy to do.
