Most people look at it and pay attention. If they don't and try to put their hand out to him, they will get snapped at. If ignored he ignores people and there are no problems. He doesn't want every stranger to put their hand in his face and pet him, and I don't blame him I used to use a yellow reflective one that said 'In training, please ignore me' ... in cities people took that quite seriously and would read it and not even acknowledge him. It did work well.

It did work well. Wish I could get away with that :/ My dog is very dog reactive and has attacked quite a few small dogs. Now that he's old and a little broken we just don't walk him now. It's easier than stressing him out for a half hour walk that he won't enjoy

They are all so beautiful! I have a German Shepherd, does that count as a sheepdog? Do yours work? Sometimes I wish I had sheep so my shepherd could have a job.

@rex888 I'm lucky that I live in such a rural area I don't see too many people. When I used to live in London it was a nightmare but the vest did work even there. It's sad that your dog is so stressed it's not worth taking him out. FerretsnFalcons I think a GSD counts I did train Skye but she is too disobedient to be useful most of the time. She gets bored of doing as she's told and then scatters the sheep for fun which is frustrating, and then when told no, she bails on the job and goes home (giggle) Shiloh, for want of a better way to describe him, is on a spectrum. He has no social skills with other dogs, in fact he ignores them completely 99% of the time and will not interact with them. He is the same with people, there are set situations in which he can interact with people he doesn't know but not just uncontrolled interaction. He doesn't really notice sheep either so wouldn't be great at sheep work. He's good by my side for driving just as a canine presence but he couldn't work in his own right. Troy is a superb sheepdog, he is still in training as yet but he has so much 'sheep sense'. He is still a little in his teen years and very green but I'm very proud of him. We bred him ourselves out of my partner's sheepdog who is a fab working sheepdog. I hope in about 6-8 years to pair him to a good little working b**ch to get our next generation
