Great! You missed question number one though and your graduation menu does not seem to include your whole prey. The menu you post for Heather to review does not have to be the exact menu you are feeding this week, (I know you said you needed to get more wp) but it does need to reflect the variety you feed if that makes sense.

Hi nannah please pop in with an updated menu. A balanced menu is VERY important as imbalances can have very serious health consequences over time. Your mentor is here to help you and ensure that your balance is correct. Without an approved menu we will not be able to graduate you from the Mentoring Program.

I'm so, so sorry about the delay!! updated menu: Monday am: chicken wings Monday pm: turkey necks Tuesday am: rabbit meat (bone in!) Tuesday pm: pork meat Wednesday am: cornish hen Wednesday pm: beef heart Thursday am: whole mouse (not babies!!!) Thursday pm: beef meat Friday am: ground fish (bone in!) Friday pm: 1/2 beef heart + 1/4 beef liver + 1/4 pork brain Saturday am: turkey necks Saturday pm: pork meat + some quail eggs (misio loves eggs) Sunday am: whole rats (not babies!!!) Sunday pm: 1/2 beef liver + 1/2 pork brain does this look better? I'm sorry I didn't include whole prey in that last one; I could've sworn I did, but ! also, omg, I copied and pasted your questions but I can't believe i missed the first one! 1.)Why are hearts important in a ferrets diet and if you run out of heart what can you use to replace it until you get more heart?Heart is absolutely necessary to a ferret's diet because it is the main source of taurine. Lack of taurine can cause a ferret to get neurological diseases, eyesight problems, and other problems. Tongue can be used as a replacement for heart (until you get more heart!), because they also contain a high amount of taurine. is there anything else I missed? again, I so apologize for how late this is!

nannah Is the fish whole ground? If it is please check the balancing chart and update a new balanced menu as it looks like you may have too many organ meals. The quiz is perfect though!

Ah, yikes. I'm really falling short, here, aren't I? Let's try again . . .
Monday am: chicken wings Monday pm: turkey necks
Tuesday am: rabbit meat (bone in!) Tuesday pm: pork meat
Wednesday am: cornish hen Wednesday pm: beef heart
Thursday am: whole mouse (not babies!!!) Thursday pm: beef meat
Friday am: duck necks Friday pm: 1/2 beef heart + 1/4 beef liver + 1/4 pork brain
Saturday am: turkey necks Saturday pm: pork meat + some quail eggs (misio loves eggs)
Sunday am: whole rats (not babies!!!) Sunday pm: 1/2 beef liver + 1/2 pork brain
I have 3 muscle meat meals because sometimes their poops can get a tad hard. :S (especially Kinga's, for some reason . . . ) I'll adjust accordingly with the muscle meat and bone-in meat, of course! other than changing the whole ground fish to a bone-in meal without organs, does this look okay?

nannah Ground fish does not have enough bone in it to really be considered a bone in meal so you can subsitute it for one of the pork meat meals and that should be fine. Do you want to do one more menu with that change for me to submit to Heather? Looks great other wise!

gotcha!
actually, as of now, the 3 muscle meat meals I think are enough (unless it's unbalanced??)--they've been doing really well having just 3 muscle meat meals. I had switched the ground fish to a bone-in meal (duck necks).

As I stated above, there is not enough bone in the ground fish to be considered a bone in meal. Even though there is some bone in it, it is still considered a muscle meal. So essentially you will be feeding 4 muscle meals instead of three. You would be short one bone in meal to meet the minimum requirement for bones.

lol I'm sorry I am being confusing. The fish would count as a muscle meat meal basically. Which is why I suggested switching it with one of your pork meat meals. Make more sense?

yeah, gotcha. but if I did that (switch it to a muscle meat instead of the duck neck) then I would be short a bone-in meal, right? would the duck necks work in that place instead?

Replacing one of the pork muscle meals with the fish and leaving the menu otherwise unchanged would work yes.

The menu you post for Heather to review should reflect everything you feed, so the fish should be included in it some where.
