Welcome to the Holistic Ferret Forum! :wave3: Abbeytheferret6 is right, I am a fellow falconer with a female red-tailed hawk that I am intermewing this year and releasing next year (she is wild-trapped). I have a thread about her, if you're interested: holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/18377/falconry-journal. You should start a thread about your Harris' too, when you collect him! I love seeing and learning how different people train different hawks. Is he imprinted or parent-reared? I'm guessing you live in the UK? What are you planning on hunting with him? Lol I'm sorry for all the questions, it's not often that a falconer comes on here (although there is another member on here named kimba who has a goshawk I believe). Please feel free to share pictures of your fuzzy and other pets!

Hello yeah that sounds interesting I shall defiantly check it out, I love any thing to do with birds of pray. He's only just hatched so I think he's 4 weeks old and will be parent reared so will stay with them for another 14-16 weeks. Hopefully get him and get him trained up just before hunting season starts, he will also be trained so that he can hunt with my ferrets as a team, bit of work ahead lol. I've been into falconry for just over a year and I have a friend who's a falconer who's been mentoring me, he flies a female Harris and a male Peregrine falcon. I was reading something on Internet about how things work for falconers in USA seems much better system than in Uk, you can buy anything as long as it's captive bird and you have the money experience dosent matter which I think is wrong. As soon as my hawk is here I'll start a progress thread and let you know how he's progressing.
